T-Mobile is a network service provider who offers a range of different mobile phones and smartphones made by a variety of manufacturers. One thing that doesn’t differ between each make and model phone they offer is the SIM lock that T-Mobile requests that the manufacturers put on the handset.

This restricts the use of the handset with any other network SIM card than a T-Mobile one. However, it is easy and legal to remove this SIM lock with the use of an unlock code.

To get hold of the unlock code for free, try asking T-Mobile.

If you are a long-standing customer of theirs they are usually really understanding and will offer you the code at no cost to you, and will even offer to unlock the phone for you in one of their high street stores.

If T-Mobile isn’t helpful with getting you the unlock code, then you can go through a third-party vendor. These are websites that buy unlock codes from manufacturers and sell the codes for a small profit.

What do I do once I have my T-Mobile unlock code?

You will also need a new SIM card, one that is not provided by T-Mobile, to aid you in the unlocking process. Once you have this new SIM card and the unlock code, follow these instructions:

1. Insert the new SIM into your handset and switch the handset on.
2. The phone will display a message asking you to enter the unlock code. This message may call it ‘code’, ‘PIN’, ‘password’ or various other names.
3. Enter the unlock code you were given. You have now Unlock T-Mobile Phone
