Unlock Samsung Galaxy S Without The Surgery

The Samsung Galaxy S is an Android smartphone series, comprising the S, S2, and S3. The original Galaxy S was released in 2010, and sold out within the first week. While praised for its superior audio quality, the original phones suffered severe problems with their GPS functions.

With the S2, the phone became a fast, effective software platform in an amazingly sleek case. It is considered one of the most efficient and elegant of the Android operating system phones. The S3, due in 2012, promises even more landmark improvements.

One thing you won’t be able to do with your Galaxy S or S2 (and presumably the S3 once it is available for purchase) right out of the box, however, is take advantage of all the possible apps, carriers, and locations from which to call.

Although the Galaxy is a GSM phone, it is shipped with a lock coded on the SIM card preventing you from being able to use your phone with carriers other than the one from which you purchased it.

To unlock the Samsung Galaxy, you’ll need a Samsung Galaxy S2 unlock code to get rid of the Galaxy’s SIM lock.

Sometimes, phone carriers will send you the Galaxy unlock code you need to unlock a Samsung phone if you call them and give them your phone details.

That will make figuring out how to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S supremely easy, so it’s worth giving your provider a call first. If they give you the unlock code, follow their instructions to unlock the phone.

If your provider doesn’t want to give you the Samsung Galaxy S2 unlock code, no problem! Just buy a SIM card and Galaxy-specific unlock code from a vendor. The SIM card needs to be associated with a phone carrier other than the one which is your phone carrier.

Once you receive the new SIM card and unlock code, you don’t need anything else to know how to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S. Simply follow these steps.

1. Power off your phone.

2. Remove your existing SIM card, and replace it with the new SIM card for a carrier other than the one which is your current carrier.

3. Power on your phone.

4. The phone will either ask you for your password, or warn you that you have an incorrect SIM card and prompt you to insert the correct one.

5. If you receive the password prompt, simply enter the unlock code you were given. Otherwise, enter the following code string, where nnnnnnnn is the 8-digit unlock code you were given: #7465625*638*nnnnnnnn#

That’s all there is to successfully unlock a Samsung Galaxy. Once you unlock the Samsung phone, you will be able to use your phone with any GSM carrier.
