Unlock Codes For A HTC Vision: The Simple Technique

The HTC Vision is also known as the HTC Desire Z. This Android-based smartphone, released in 2010, is very similar to the standard HTC Desire, except that it has a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. The phone contains many different sensors – it can sense the ambient light for the best pictures from its 5 megapixel camera, and also has a G-sensor and a proximity sensor.

Like the rest of the Desire line, the HTC Vision / Desire Z also contains a SIM lock. This isn’t HTC’s decision, though. It’s a feature requested by cell phone service providers, allowing them to offer the phones to customers at a deep discount and be confident they’ll get their money back from cell phone service fees. If you could get your phone from one provider and immediately turn around and use it with any other provider, they’d have to offer the phones at full retail cost.

The providers are happy to give customers the cell phone unlock code for their unique phones as soon as the providers have recovered their investment in the phone, however. Depending on the terms and conditions of your agreement with the provider that sold you the phone, you may merely need to be a currently contracted customer with a paid-up account, or you may need to have been a customer for a certain number of months with that phone.

If you visit your carrier’s store, they may perform the phone unlocking service for you. Otherwise, you might need to visit the carrier’s web site or call their customer service phone line to get the specific unlock codes for unique phones.

Another way of getting the cell phone unlock code is to buy it from an online phone unlocking service. These services access the identical databases as the cell phone service providers to look up the unlock codes based on individual IMEI numbers. The main difference is that service providers offer the codes to their customers for free, and the unlocking services charge people for the codes.

In addition to the code, you need to get a fresh SIM card that isn’t associated with your current cell phone service provider. You can buy a SIM card for very little money at any cell phone store.

Once you have the SIM card and unlock code, follow these steps.

1. Power off your phone.

2. Remove your existing SIM card, and replace it with the new SIM card.

3. Power on your phone. (Depending on your phone, you may need to switch it to GSM mode.)

4. The phone will ask you for the SIM unlock code.

5. Simply enter the unlock code you were given.

See how simple it was to unlock your HTC Vision? You’ll now be able to use the GSM carrier of your choice.
