The first and most important key to the mobile unlocking process for any cell phone handset is what is known as an unlock code, a code specially designed by the cell phone manufacturer to remove the network restrictions built in to the handset to make life harder for you if you want to switch network service provider.

This unlock code can be obtained in a number of ways, but the first thing you need to know is the unique IMEI or serial number of your handset. This can be found by typing *#06# into any mobile handset.
